The most amazing ice experience in Holland
Frosty winter or not, the Museumplein in Amsterdam will be transformed into a winter experience this year. Ice*Amsterdam returns as the capital’s cosiest ice rink at the familiar Museumplein location. Young and old will slide, slip and stumble around from November 17th 2018 till February 3rd 2019.
Ice*Amsterdam is the place to enjoy a hot chocolate milk, take the most beautiful winter pictures with the Rijksmuseum in the background and skate under the replica of the ‘Magere Brug’ with friends and family. Both, young and old, will experience a warm atmosphere where they can enjoy their time with each other surrounded by the breathtaking view of the Museumplein location.
This year, the activities have been expanded by focusing on weekly events. With a combination of skating lessons, activities and events, locals and tourists will experience the complete winter atmosphere. From the 14th till 26th of December, the Ice*Village will turn the whole city into a joyfully winter fest. The winter market is the place to find original Christmas gifts, unique accessories and warm clothing or you can simply enjoy delicious food and drinks.Winter restaurant ‘Brasserie Het Parool’
There are plenty of reasons for non-skaters to visit the Museumplein as well. Right next to the rink, Ice*Amsterdam opens a cosy restaurant serving lunch, snacks and creamy cheese fondue. Skaters can warm up with a cup of hot ‘Chocomel’ or taste one of the famous Van Dobben ‘bitterballen’. The rink’s replica of the ‘Magere Brug’ and different views on the background gives an Instagram-worthy view of the Rijksmuseum.
